Please join Salem-Keizer Safe Routes to School, Bush Elementary, and Principal Jazmin Garcia for Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on Friday, November 14th, 2025, at 8:15 AM.Together we will walk in honor of Ruby Bridges and her courageous walk into Frantz Elementary School on November 14th, 1960, a historic step that helped end school segregation in Louisiana.​WHO: Bush Elementary and SK Safe Routes to School.    WHAT: Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day.WHEN: November 14th, 2025, 8:15 am.WHERE: 410 14th Street SE, Salem, OR 97301.WHY: To honor and celebrate Ruby Bridges and her courageous walk.HOW: Wear some warm clothes, comfy shoes, and purple for Ruby. We will all go out and walk with students and staffPlease look out for permission slips in your student's Backpacks and return them by Wednesday November 12th.The Ruby Bridges Foundation reminds us:“Ruby believes the most important thing is uniting students. That is why this walk to school day is so important. It is a call to action — a day of dialogue encouraging students to participate in discussions about anti-racism, anti-bullying, and youth activism on this day and throughout the school year.
