Tiger Club
Who Runs Tiger Club?
Tiger Club is led by Willamette University students who volunteer their time at Bush. A Bush staff member is also present to help with management.
What is Tiger Club?
Tiger Club is an academic-based after-school program held at Bush Elementary focusing on art, science, community, culture, and teamwork. The purpose of Tiger Club is to give kids an enriching environment to spend an hour after school having fun while working with college-student mentors and learning academic skills as well as learning about the world. Our typical day will include some combination of hands-on activities and interactive learning with the goal of fostering teamwork, creativity, curiosity, and cultural appreciation. There is no cost for Tiger Club or for any of the materials or special projects that may occur. We are lucky enough to have the club fully funded by a donor to Willamette. We simply ask the Bush students to uphold the same behavior standards as they would during the school day.
When is Tiger Club?
Tiger Club’s winter session will be every Tuesday and Friday we have school. There will be no session Feb 2 or March 19-March 29. Meetings are 2:20 to 3:20. The office closes at 3:30, so it is important to pick students up right away at 3:20.

They will later participate in a district-wide tournament against other schools who are part of Chess for Success.

- Encouraging and rewarding hard work

What is GRASSP Soccer Club?
GRASSP is a school-based program to engage at-risk students through soccer to identify with, connect to, participate in, learn from and enjoy school – as well as develop good character and good decision-making skills for life.
Free to students, the program is a partnership between CFC, Salem Leadership Foundation, and Salem Keizer School District. Schools use the program to engage high-risk 4th and 5th grade students through soccer, and help keep them engaged and motivated to stay involved with school. Students participate in games against other schools, as well as in a jamboree at Captal Futbol Club on State Street.
